BAFTA Rocliffe New Writing Forum in London is truly original - a public script call-out in the months before the event results in hundreds of scripts arriving at BAFTA headquarters. We assemble a crack team of producers, development executives, literary agents, directors, actors and the Rocliffe team who sift through the applications to find three different 10-minute script extracts to showcase at the New Writing Forum. These scripts are cast by Rocliffe in-house casting director Laura Dickens CDG and rehearsed by professional actors and directors. Backdrops are designed by Production Designer Kem White. The music is written by composers from agent Air-Edel (Atonement, Gosford Park, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire) which help bring the scripts to life. A narrator sets the piece in context and the extracts are performed to an industry audience of producers, development executives, directors, actors and literary agents. Following each performance the writer receives feedback from the industry co-chair and moderator and event producer Farah Abushwesha and answers questions from the audience. The evening rounds off with a relaxed Q&A with the co-chair and a networking opportunity in the bar.
