"Winning the 2011 Bafta Rocliffe Comedy Scriptwriting Competition has had a massive impact on our writing career. Our winning script PREGNANT PAUSE attracted interest from a number of US and UK production companies and we were delighted when it was optioned by Bwark Productions. Then the icing on the cake, was being taken on as writers and performers by United Agents."
"Sitting on a stage as one of the greatest writer/directors in this country and an audience dissected my work and my intentions as a writer is one of the most exposing and nerve-wracking things I've ever done. And the best. Peter Kosminsky made an essential point - character before plot. I had been so wrapped up in my complicated jigsaw puzzle of a plot that I might just have populated it with too many colourful characters. Peter made me realise it was more important to make each character matter. And that kind of advice is gold dust. Peter was able to diagnose clearly the issues I was facing with draft one, he understood the faction element and by extension encouraged me to not be afraid to ask difficult questions and engage in potentially controversial story lines - as long as my research is solid and I do not shy away, or succumb; to type, to the genre trap, to predictability or an overcomplicated plot. In short, to stay true to the characters situation and to your own convictions, simply to tell a story."
